Ticket to Work Attends the National Council on Independent Living's Annual Conference
On June 13 - 14, Social Security’s Ticket to Work team exhibited at the annual conference of the National Council on Independent Living to provide information and employment resources to recipients of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and/or Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI). This year’s event, titled, “30 years of Advocacy: And Miles to Go Before We Sleep” was held in Washington, D.C. During the two-day exhibit, the Ticket to Work team met nearly 200 beneficiaries, community partners, Employment Networks (EN) and Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) agencies.
To the nearly 200 individuals who attended the Ticket to Work exhibit, the team distributed a variety of informative materials, including:
- Ticket to Work brochures
- Megan Riggs’ Success Story
- Youth-in-Transition slick sheet
- Ticket to Work Wallet cards
- Common Work Incentives table
Additionally, attendees were invited to participate in the upcoming Twitter Chat on Friday, June 22 focused on Youth in Transition as well as the WISE Webinar on Wednesday, June 27) focused on Work Incentives and benefits protections.
